What we are looking for
Licensed Texas contractors who install ductless systems regularly — not as an occasional add-on to central work. Ductless has its own failure modes, and the ones that matter most (improper evacuation, wrong sizing, bad condensate routing) do not surface until long after the homeowner has paid. We would rather route work to crews who have already learned those lessons.
How it works
- We generate the demand. Homeowners find us through search and request a quote. We publish real installed pricing, which means the homeowners who reach out have already seen realistic numbers and are not expecting a $1,200 whole-house system.
- We qualify the request. Space type, square footage, location, electrical situation, timeline.
- You get the lead and own it. You contact the homeowner, perform your own load calculation and site evaluation, and quote your own price.
- You do the work under your own contract. We are not a party to it. We do not set your pricing and do not take a percentage of your invoice.
Requirements
Current TDLR license
An active Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation air conditioning and refrigeration contractor license, in the class appropriate to the work.
EPA Section 608 certification
For every technician handling refrigerant. Non-negotiable — an uncertified install voids the manufacturer warranty on the homeowner's equipment.
Active general liability insurance
Current certificate of insurance, with coverage appropriate to residential mechanical work.
Demonstrated ductless experience
We ask about recent ductless installations specifically. General HVAC experience is valuable but ductless has its own failure modes, and we would rather send homeowners to crews who do it weekly.
Proper commissioning practice
Deep vacuum before charging, verified superheat and subcooling, documented startup. If a crew is not pulling a proper vacuum, we are not a fit.
Permit compliance
You pull the permits. We do not work with contractors who offer homeowners the option of skipping them.
What we expect on the job
Homeowners arriving through this site have read our content. They have seen the pricing tables, they know what should be included in a quote, and they have been told to ask whether a load calculation was performed. That raises the floor on what a quote needs to look like.
Practically, we expect network installers to:
- Perform an actual load calculation rather than sizing from square footage
- Pull a deep vacuum before charging, every time
- Pull the required permits and coordinate inspection
- Route condensate properly, with attention to Gulf Coast volume
- Quote line-set length and electrical scope explicitly rather than leaving them ambiguous
- Register the manufacturer warranty on the homeowner's behalf
None of that is exotic. It is what a good ductless installation involves, and it is the standard we describe to homeowners across this site — so it needs to be the standard they actually get.
Where we need capacity
Demand is deepest across Dallas–Fort Worth, Greater Houston, Greater San Antonio, Greater Austin, and El Paso. We are currently short of capacity in several suburban markets, and notably in El Paso, where evaporative cooler replacement volume exceeds what our network can absorb.
