What we do

We connect Texas homeowners with licensed ductless mini split installers. You tell us about your space, we match you with an installer who works in your area, and they provide a free written quote. There is no cost to you and no obligation to book.

We are not the company doing the installation, and we think it matters that we say so plainly rather than burying it. Installation work is fulfilled by our licensed partner, a licensed, insured local contractor from our vetted partner network. We explain the whole arrangement — including how we are compensated — on how we make money.

Why ductless, specifically

Ductless is still treated as a specialty in Texas relative to central air, and that creates a gap. Plenty of general HVAC contractors will quote a mini split without having installed many. The problem is that the ways a ductless install goes wrong are invisible on the day.

A system that was not properly evacuated before charging has moisture in the refrigerant circuit. That moisture forms acids that destroy the compressor — over two to five years. A system sized from a rule of thumb rather than a load calculation will short-cycle and fail to dehumidify, which on the Gulf Coast means a room that is cold and clammy. A condensate line run without proper fall backs up into your wall.

None of that shows up at final walkthrough. All of it shows up later. Matching homeowners with installers who do this work regularly is the actual value we provide.

Every installer in our network must hold a current TDLR license, EPA Section 608 certification, and active general liability insurance. We verify all three before anyone joins, because in Texas HVAC work on a residence legally requires a license and an uncertified refrigerant handler will void your manufacturer warranty.

How we approach content

Most home-services sites publish price ranges wide enough to be useless and recommend their own product in every situation. We have tried to do the opposite.

The pricing page lists actual installed prices by system type — from a single room to a whole-house replacement — so you have a number you can hold any quote against, including one of ours. Most sites in this business publish ranges wide enough to be meaningless.

We also publish the cases where ductless is not the right answer. The central AC comparison explains when a ducted system is the better buy. And when the federal 25C tax credit expired at the end of 2025, we removed it from our pricing rather than leaving it up to make our numbers look better.

Where we work

We cover 23 Texas cities across five markets — Dallas–Fort Worth, Greater Houston, Greater San Antonio, Greater Austin, and El Paso — and our installer network reaches beyond them. Each city page covers local permitting, the utility rebate that actually applies there, and climate-specific sizing, because those three genuinely differ across Texas even though equipment prices largely do not.
